Children's Book For All x Lamakaan: A coming together of stories, art, and activism — through the lens of children's books

CBA collaborated with Lamakaan, an open and inclusive cultural center in Hyderabad, India, that promotes arts, literature, debate, and dialogue - all values deeply aligned with what CBA stands for.

We facilitated a children’s book reading and reflective engagement session, inviting participants of all ages to engage with stories through a psycho-social-emotional lens. The gathering created space for both children and adults to share memories, questions, and feelings sparked by the stories. We read The Suitcase, a story that delves into the complexities of friendship and migration, We also read The Artivist, which explores the intersection of art and activism. These readings were followed by an art exhibition where participants showcased their own expressions of activism through art.

This experience affirmed that children’s books can open hearts and minds, no matter our age.
