Tactile book on “Love is …”

The Children’s Book For All community came together to write and create a tactile children’s book for children with visual impairment, as part of the National Tactile Book Competition in collaboration with Chetana Trust, Chennai.

Our book explores the theme of LOVE, inviting children to experience and imagine it through touch, texture, scent, and curiosity. We opened up space for wonder with questions like: “Is love small like a budding seed, or big like the bark of a tree?” The book featured velvety cloth, textured cardboard, pressed bougainvillaea flowers, and scented pockets filled with black pepper and cardamom and more —inviting multisensory engagement with every page.

Though we didn’t clear the second round of the competition, we feel deeply committed to returning to the book — to make it even more accessible, inclusive, and evocative, so that every reader can take something meaningful away from its pages.
