I am an autistic person, also with anxiety. I am a very determined person. I deal with discrimination and ableism, but I also don’t give up. Music, dancing, movies, TV shows, nature, food etc. gives me happiness. Any ableism or discrimination makes me sad. Being misunderstood for who I am makes me sad. I am generally a sensitive person. I feel very much even though I don’t really show it.

My relationship with children’s books connect me with my inner child. It heals me and makes me feel good. I started reading children’s book when I met Arushi. She used to share Children’s books with me. I was surprised to see how much it is relevant to me - how much I can still learn about life and how therapeutic it is. Each of our readings have been very special. It brings me closer to the community.

I am happy that reading Children’s books are a part of my life. I hope to continue to read them whenever I feel down, whenever I need motivation. I just want to say, you all are missing a lot! Reading children’s books are so therapeutic. You can learn so much from it. We often think that children’s books are childish, but there is always a message. So please don’t let go off children’s books.
