Ghera | घेरा : An Earth Grief Collective
About Group
Among many aboriginal communities and tribes, grief was never meant to be carried alone. When one heart grieved a loss, the whole community came together to hold the sorrow together.
In today’s world we are grieving for so much.
- Grieving for wars waged on our planet
- Grieving for the air we breathe
- Grieving for our forests which are disappearing
- Grieving for our rivers and oceans
- Grieving for the collapse of our natural ecosystems
So much grief - yet fractured and shoved in our individual hearts. Even crushed by the social, political crises, authoritarianism and systems that feel too big to move.
What is Ghera ?
Ghera is a space to collectively hold the grief of ecological exploitation and disasters we witness around us. It is an attempt to create a space for us to come together and to make our grief whole in each other’s presence.
At Ghera, we will together witness and tend to the grief we are carrying. We will also attempt to build habits that help us move beyond despair to strengthen our connection with our selves, our fellow humans and with the core elements of nature - earth, water, air, fire and space.
In doing this, our anchors will be poetry, art, specially curated children’s book and company of each other.

”Concocting potions with grief and sadness, adding a dash of wholesome presence, we can transform loss to belonging.”
I’ve spent 14 years working at the intersection of climate crisis and human emotion. What I’ve learned is that persuasion alone doesn’t move people — but a safe space for grief, sadness, and anger does. Before we can act, we have to honour the loss. Ghera is that space.

”If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to see it — many of us still feel it.”
As a musician, artist, and systems thinker, I’ve heard the earth’s calling deep within my being. This space is my way of responding — and of helping others cut through the noise to hear it too.
