heArt | दिल से : An art-based support group to explore self
About the Group
heART is an arts-based support circle to explore the self, anchored in art and children’s picture books by Children’s Books for All (CBA).
This is a space rooted in creating space to imagine, feel, connect to parts of ourselves that may have been quietened, hidden or left behind - a space to gently return to oneself beyond the roles, expectations, and layers that life often places upon us.
At the centre of this group is the intention to open one’s heart-space, to nurture safety through collective presence, and to allow room for becoming; who we already are beneath the noise, and who we can be.
Over 8 sessions across 4 months, each meeting will unfold around themes that speak to the authentic self. The journey will be supported by children’s picture books, alongside expressive arts practices, reflective conversations, and moments of shared meaning-making.
The circle will be facilitated by two individuals who have found themselves through art: Aarushi Panwar and Isha Anand, members of the CBA community.
The Facilitators
Aarushi (She/They) is an expressive arts therapy practitioner (ExAT-P) whose work is rooted in creative expression and connection that can support emotional and sensory regulation, growth and meaning-making of our inner and outer world experiences. Through heArt, she hopes to invite everyone to come together to co-create this brave space of re-connecting with our authentic selves in the presence of community.
Isha (She/her) is an educator who finds herself drawn to different art forms, books, storytelling, music, visual art, cinema and everyday moments of creativity that quietly spark wonder and imagination. With heArt, she hopes for everyone to express themselves freely without the gaze of others, and that we learn and unlearn ways of creating from the space of joy and freedom.
